ஆனால் இந்த விஜயதசமி தினத்தில் அப்படி இல்லை. அன்னையின் வெற்றியை கொண்டாடக்கூடிய இந்த சுப தினத்தில், யாருக்கு அசுப தினம் என்று இல்லை.

வெற்றித்திருநாள் தீயவை அழிந்து நல்லவை வெற்றி பெற்ற நாளாக விஜயதசமி கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. மகிஷாசுரனை அழிக்க சாமுண்டீஸ்வரி அவதாரம் எடுத்தாள். 9 நாட்கள் நீடித்த போர், விஜயதசமியன்று முடிவுக்கு வந்தது. தீய சக்தியான மகிஷாசுரனை அன்னை சாமுண்டீஸ்வரி வதம் செய்தாள். நல்ல சக்தியின் வெற்றி திருவிழாவாக விஜயதசமி கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது என்கின்றன புராணங்கள்.
